Ok, so here is the first screeny of my Atlantis WIP.

NOTE: It's just a WIP and still needs ALOT of work.
And to avoid confusion, all the textures are my own. The faded green wall texture used in Shep's Atlantis is also mine. And all models are mine, minus the gate.

Something most the the Atlantis maps out there have one fatal flaw, FPS. But! Mine wont, at least I hope it wont. I figure since the Q3 engine treats models as it does "detailed" brushes, I should be ok, so long as I convert most of the detailed things, like, stairways, rails, windows and lights into .ase's, and make the rest detailed brushes. And I am going to TRY make my outside of Atlantis one big static .ase. So cross your fingers...

Thanks man Smile I remember a time when everyone told me I'd never learn to map crap... IN UR FACE CASPER!!! muhahahaha! Very Happy
Great thing is it's not laggy at all, and it compiles in about 2 mins. So I can keep adding ALOT of detail to make it better. Wink I wonder if I could make a skybox that has an image of the pears on it.. Instead of making the pears them self, then I can make the outside a separate map that loads automatically when you enter a transporter outside... hmmm....

Running a late night compile now. I'll upload pics later. Prolly in the morning lol

But here is a list of updates.

Lights added **(191 Light Entities in all)**

Jumper Bay door thing on the sealing added... lol

I added one of the Labs, and I'll add the Library Later.

Fixed the lighting in the hallways and stairways.

Fixed the stairs too. Got em as close as I could to the show... and I'm not touching them anymore... They are prolly the hardest part of the damn thing!!! affraid

EDIT: Yea, still compiling, I'll post pics in the morning I think... At least I'll try...

Still need to work some kinks out but it's coming along ok I guess...
The Jumper was fun lol. I took the model for the Jumper Vehicle and converted it to a .map with Milk Shape. Joy joy, laggy though so I don't know if it will be included or not.

The Jumper was the vehicle included in Casper's map. And I just converted ti to a .map and re-textured it. Problem is it's a lot of brushes. Almost as many as Atlantis, so It's laggy. But I'll see if I can fix that. I'd like to have a few you can fly in the bay and some you can't. Like the Jumper map.

Might use it like a dueling map also, I thought about it once before. Maybe have it over water and the water brush is just a moving texture. And your inside and I don't know what then lol. Would be kinda cramped tho... hmm..

You kno I thought about making a movie with maps once before. I tried to get pple from SGM but no one really was interested.

I used to look around the SGM, just before it's untimely demise, and I think I may have seen the stuff you posted on there, about the movie thing. You should google, "Hypercamera" if you're really interested in it. And maybe get friends together for voice overs.

Thinking I might just finish the Atlantis and releases it as an MP map.
As to my kick in the balls, Tony/Rodney was right. Sortta, fact is I got all the scripting for the lights of Atlantis to work like I want, but it makes the game crash when you run it... So.. meh... Guess I'm gonna have to learn HL2 after all... Damn it...

So once I get some fresh shots I'll upload them. Got any kool off world suggestions?

The crashing is either your graphics card, or the game engine,
I can test the one that crashed on my PC if you upload it somewhere, to see if you need a high-end card Razz

HL2 has awesome potential, easy to make invisible sensors.. So I was told XD

Nah, I'll release it as an MP map and off world. I do on the other hand need some help if someone could manege... I need a skybox, like all the others, clouds, water, preferably dusk, and what I want is images of the Atlantis pears in it so it's part of the skybox, so when you look out a window you'll see the city and water and sky. Instead of adding my Atlantis models to it cuz that won't work either... grr..
