Warp Gate 0012

Come August 1, I will be releasing to the internet, the first of what I hope to be many screenplays, for a story called Warp Gate 0012. Now, here's the synopsis.

- Synopsis -
A 2000 foot wide ring is discovered in orbit around Jupiter. When a team of scientists, marines, biologists, and so on, activate it, they are thrown through space, and in turn, deplete the power source of Earth's Warp Gate. Each gate has a cereal number to input, to dig a tunnel through zero space. Earth's number is 0012. Now, the stranded Earthlings join a crew of aliens, trying to avoid the grasp of an alien military, and just trying to get home.
Now, let's address why I'm doing this. I've realized that I love writing screenplays and teleplays. So, I'm doing this to try and get noticed by someone.
Now, a screenplay is not a novel.

- Novel -
Caldwell stepped onto the bridge, hungry for food.
"Who's stolen my golden potatoes?!" he yells.

- Screenplay (not very good format) -
INT. DAEDALUS - BRIDGE
Caldwell steps onto the bridge, hungry for food.

CALDWELL
Who's stolen my golden potatoes?!

sounds good ^_^ just try not to get it too stargatish ^_^ but if done correctly I think this would be a good idea ^_^

my non-professional advice would be to make it a modern time with alot of military like things added. Like how Stargate sg1 was. It had a military based operation with alot of sci-fi added to it so we could Kinda relate to it in a way. Like how BSG was as well even tho it was more futuristic(the political aspect made it feel more realistic and gave us something to relate too).

This way it gives us something to relate more to on a personal level. Like with SG-1 we could honestly look at it and go "wow! This could ACTUALLY happen!" and on BSG it was like "Wow there aliens but they have the same problems as us." or how I was saying it "Wow the president screws you over no matter what planet you came from!"


just some simple things to possibly consider even tho you already have the stuff down =P

It's set in modern time. I hope it'll turn out to be good, but for now, it's just for fun, and to see if I can get noticed.

I'm gonna start digging in my garden to find gold/silver foods... I need monies...

LOL, just don't eat them, they only lead to pain and the hospital...

I can just see it now " WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU EATING! ITS A GOLD MINE IN HERE!"

and they would leave me dead on the table and take of with my tummy money....

OR, they could just sell your entire tummy, stating that it's juices will cause eternal awesomeness.

no! they would take most of it sew you up and tell you ya need to come back in a couple of weeks for another surgery! XD

Or they may just do what we do when we need a kidney from an unruly donor. Knock 'em out, take the kidney, and write "see a doctor" in blood on the wall.
